These Christmas Tree Rice Crackles are a quick and easy festive dessert that your guests will love!
Ingredients:
– Mini marshmallows
– 125g of butter
– Rice bubbles
– Food colouring (we picked green)
– Paddle pop sticks
– Icing sugar (mixed with water in a piping bag, to decorate trees)
– Assorted sprinkles for decoration
Instructions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mini marshmallows and butter.
2. Melt the butter and marshmallows together in the microwave, heating in 30-second increments until smooth. Stir well after each interval.
3. Add food colouring and mix.
4. Once mixed, add the rice bubbles to the bowl. Mix until combined.
5. Grease a round baking dish
6. Transfer the mixture into the dish and press down firmly with a spatula to pack it tightly.
7. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until set.
8. Once firm, remove the rice crackle mixture from the baking dish.
9. Cut into wedges resembling mini Christmas trees.
10. Insert a paddle pop stick into the base of each wedge.
11. Pipe icing over the wedges, to resemble lights on the tree.
12. Decorate with your choice of festive sprinkles!
